Food Index
The Food Index is a database that enables analysis of menus, their content and price over time.
Features
A large sample of food led outlets has been compiled. These comprise of a geographically disbursed sample of Pub Chains, Branded Restaurants and Independent Pubs. Information from complete menus has been collected, classified and databased, covering:
- Starters, main courses, salads, side dishes, sauces, desserts
- The prices catalogued
- Menu Items have a primary protein content classification
Additionally, event menus such as Christmas, Valentines day and Mothers day have been collected and analysed. Outlets can be compared by the outlet's Brand/Owner Group, geographic region and tenure type. Data is available in four geographic regions:
- Scotland
- North of England
- Midlands, Wales and West
- London and South East England

- Summer (June/July research delivered at end of August)
- Winter (November/December research delivered at end of February)
Format
MS Access as standard. Other formats available as required eg Excel.
