Brooklyn Beer no longer fridge-bound in the UK

Brooklyn Beer is a new addition to the range of world-premium-lager being offered on draught in the UK. The UK supply is being managed by James Clay. The independent importer and distributor says that its ethos is to ‘bring you the best in natural and high quality craft brewed beers’

Brooklyn Brewery began life 23 years ago. Former Associated Press correspondent Steve Hindy and former Lending Officer Tom Potter would personally deliver the beer to retailers in New York. One of their first major successes was winning first place at the Great American Beer Tasting in 1989. In 1996 Mayor Rudy Giuliani cut the ribbon on their new brewery.

Brooklyn Beer has an abv of 5.2%. Its green logo was designed by Milton Glaser, best known for the iconic 'I Love New York' campaign. Manchester sightings of the draught version include the Cornerhouse in the city centre and Pi in the Chorlton suburb. This suggests that those to first stock Brooklyn Beer, outside of a bottle, will be bars highly frequented by ‘young professionals’. The Brooklyn brewers other beers include Brown Ale, East India Pale Ale, Pennant Ale 55, Pilsner and Weisse amongst others. James Clays portfolio also includes Duvel, Erdinger, Liefmans, Chimay, Timmermans, Schneider, Brooklyn and Vedett, in addition to UK brands. The company also distributes non-alcoholic drinks such as Fentimans Victorian Lemonade, Ginger Beer and Curiosity Cola
