Hook Norton and Wadworth promote cask’s female appeal

Both Wadworth and Hook Norton brewers are using National Cask Ale week as an opportunity to encourage more female drinkers to experience the joys of ale.

Hook Norton held a ‘ladies night’ at its visitor centre in Oxfordshire. In addition to raising over £400 for Leukaemia Research, those who attended tried out different cask ale and were presented with suggestions on which food to pair with particular beers. Women who do drink cask ale were encouraged to bring along a friend who doesn’t. The event also included stalls selling handmade gifts, jewellery, Aloe Vera and flowers.

Meanwhile, Wadworth Brewery has launched Mississippi. The new brew was created by female employees and is a ‘golden colour with a vibrant aroma of summer fruits’. Cask Ale week runs until Monday.
