Diageo's flavoured Smirnoff and Thwaites tinged ice cream
Following a successful 12 month trial in Bristol, Diageo is introducing its flavoured vodkas to a nationwide market.
Diageo will be spending £3.65 million on the marketing campaign, which will include radio, online and outdoor advertising, along with point-of-sale material. The new flavours include Lime Smirnoff and Green Apple Smirnoff, which include mixes with cola and lemonade. Meanwhile, another innovative flavour has been created in the form of ice-cream flavoured with Thwaites Original Cask Ale. The imaginative combination is the creation of David Wardleworth, who is the head chef and licensee of the Traders Arms in the Lancashire town of Mellor. The ice–cream is reportedly popular with both punters and Daniel Thwaites itself. All Mr Wardleworth needs now is some ice-cream flavoured weather.
