Kopparberg and Halewood add extra flavours to the market

Both Kopparberg and Halewood International are bringing out distinctive new drinks, which build on their existing brands.

Kopparberg is presenting Elderflower and Lime cider to the UK market. The variant is already a best-seller in Kopparberg’s home market of Sweden and Finland. It will be available in 500ml bottles with an abv of 4%. Kopparberg is aiming to counteract both the economic climate and the slowing trend in packaged cider sales. The Swedish company already has pear, mixed fruit, apple and alcohol free pear as variants. The Elderflower and Lime has a drier taste which results from the combination of two fruits with apple cider.

For its part, Halewood is hoping to fire up the taste-buds of beer drinkers with Crabbies Alcoholic Ginger beer. It will be supporting the launch with a £1 million spend on print and radio advertising. The new 500ml abv 4% bottled beer will be served with a slice of lemon. It is aimed at the 18-35 year old drinkers, particularly those who enjoy ciders, RTDs and spirits. Crabbies alcoholic ginger beer is an extension to Crabbies green ginger wine.
