Last Wednesday PITH announced the launch of The New Community Service Fund to help UK pubs to diversity into new services provision for their own communities.
PITH wants to overcome the postcode lottery that currently exists in the UK for funding rural services and raise £1 million over the next 2 years to provide consistent national coverage and develop funding for rural services with pub licensees in England, Wales and Scotland. Diageo plc has kick-started the fund with a £50,000 donation and the Government has matched it with its own donation of £50,000 and a further pledge of £100,000 to enable the organisation to expand its advisory operations.
